The Cubile bed by Collaboratorio is named after the beds of Ancient Rome: in addition to an actual bed, the word cubile denotes more generally a place of rest. The beautifully natural untreated oak or beech highlights Cubile’s simple form and brings a sense of calmness to the bedroom.
The bed is available in three widths: 100, 160 and 180 cm and two materials, solid oak and solid beech. They fit a mattress with same width or narrower, if the user wants to enhance the wooden slats. The bed, without mattress, is 21,5 cm high, and can be assembled without any screws or tools.
The Cubile bed can be supplemented with a headboard and a night stand desk.
The Cubile bed system is made ecologically in Finland; the carpenters use as much of the wood as possible to prevent materials from going to waste, trying to use all the part of the tree. Furthermore, every piece is unique since the wood naturally varies in color and quality.
